A field of study that investigates the impact that individuals, groups, and
structure have on behavior within organizations, for the purpose of applying such
knowledge toward improving an organization’s effectiveness

Robbins( 2003), Organizational
behavior (OB) is a field of study that
investigates the impact that
individuals, groups, and structure have
on behavior within an organization,
OB then applies that knowledge to make
organizations work more effectively.

 Specifically, OB focuses on how to


improve productivity, reduce
absenteeism and turnover, and
increase employee satisfaction

behavior is directly concerned with the
understanding, Prediction, and control of
human behavior in Organizations.
 According to Keith Davis "organizational
behaviour is the study and application of
knowledge about how people act within
organizations.
 Organizational Behavior word has been
consisted of two different words
"Organization" and "Behavior". Organization
means a disciplined and regulatory process by
which planned objective turns into realistic. On
the other hand, Here. Behavior means human
behaviors inside a organization.
