INTRODUCTION

Forensic science is the scientific process such as DNA coding, toxicology ; serology
and ballistics which used to solve crimes. There were various types of evidences
produced in crime scene as well as the collection of the evidences are based on the
genetic materials, trace chemicals, finger prints and also other physical evidences.

Fingerprint recognition has been widely for more than century and it still remains
as the exceptional valuable tool as well. Fingerprints are used to identify suspects and
to solve crimes accordingly. Fingerprints that are left in the crime scenes are useful to
incriminate or eliminate suspects that have been caught.

APPLICATION OF ORGANIC COMPOUNDS FOR
DETECTION OF
 LATENTphenyl)-4,5-diphenyl-1H-imidazol-2yl)
2-(1-(3, 5-bis (trifluoromethyl) FINGERPRINTS & ANTI-COUNTERFEITING
phenol - used for probing the sweat pores and
widely used in anti-counterfeiting applications.

 Fluorescent benzazole dyes - for blood stain detection and bloody finger mark enhancement.

 Fluorescent benzazole dyes(Fingerprints detection on Adhesive Tapes) – non adhesive and adhesive

 Tetra Phenyl Ethane based dyes - Enhancement of Visualization of Latent Fingerprints on various surfaces

 Benzophenoxazine derivatives – Dual luminescent fingerprints reagents on porous surface as well as to establish the
relationship between chemical structure reagent and its influence on efficiency

 Thio Carbamoylpyrazole derivatives – Non luminescent latent finger mark developers

 A series of Electrophilic Bromination and Palladium-Catalyzed Cross-Coupling reactions – Latent fingerprints on
different surfaces

 Azomethine Zinc (II) complexes ( Cyclohexyl-1, 2—diamino organic ligands ) - Powder compounds have better
adhesion & fingerprint ridges can be detected clearer without any background staining.
 Coronene Diimide – Porous latent fingerprints material

 1, 4-disubstituted-1, 2, 3-triazoles – Cost effective & less toxic powders

 Derivatives of Acridinediones – Enhance visualization on a non-porous surface using simple hand held UV lamp

 N-(2, 6-dimethylphenyl)-2-(piperazin-1-yl) acetamides – Tested as the better latent fingerprint substance compared to

other derivatives

 Diphenylpyrimidinone - salicylideneamine –Fingerprint lifting on porous surface ; not on non porous and smooth
surface

 Polyelectrolytes – Highly sensitive latent fingerprints

 Covalent Organic Polymers with Colourful Florescence – colour changing dependant LFPs imaging
 Multicolour 9, 9’-dianthryl sulfoxide dyes - Undergoes photochemical extrusion of a sulfoxide moiety with emission of
red, blue and green color

 Anthracene endo peroxide - Photo switching with dual mode anti-counterfeiting pattern in response to the
orthogonal stimuli was achieved

 An efficient solid state photo switch based on a spiropyran functionalised distyryl anthracene derivative - solid state
organic photo switches with reversible luminescence modulation property for anti-counterfeiting

 TPA- 10H - conventional probes with simple, facile, non toxic, water soluble and applicability on multi substrates

 N-allylquinolinium based salts - Room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) materials as an anti-counterfeiting

 Water soluble hydroxyl quinoline-tryptophan - Novel molecules for application in theualization of latent finger prints
