Problem Statement
In typical agricultural system lot of manual handling by using farmers and machines
due to which time wasting and decreasing accuracy of the system.

Problem Solution
• In agriculture there are many automatic machines developed in order save the human
energy and time but they are either won’t be much efficient features or economical in cost.
• we proposed an idea will make an Agricultural robot which is capable of doing all basic
function required to be done by a farmer.
• One of the important professions in Pakistan is farming so it is essential to look out for
automation in field work to reduce man power.
• This project focuses on farming work features like automatic irrigation system, monitoring of
the field using parameters such as temperature, soil moisture, humidity, seeding, cutting,
watering.
• The parameters that are monitored from field and transmitted to mobile unit using
Bluetooth module. As well as here we will observe disease spread on plant using interfacing
of camera.
• This idea is came after study different literature which is mention in reference index
Introduction
• Throughout the earlier years many devices and technologies has been utilized to provide automation in
farming and accordingly to reduce efforts of farmers.
• One project presented system combination of such technology together having automatic irrigation
system, cutting feature, seed planting feature.
• The proposed system is an embedded system which will closely monitor and control the microclimatic
parameters of a field to control water provided to farm and cutting of plants at specific level.
• This proposed system also includes motion sensor which can measures the exact location for seeding,
cutting, watering on field.
• Disease is analyzed using camera placed on robot which takes leaf sample snaps and transmitted to farmer
monitor where it compares with This robot also introducing weeding feature for cutting unwanted grass in
crop.
• This robot can also take the soil moisture readings and humidity and temperature of field readings and
send it to the user’s mobile by SMS send by the Bluetooth.
• Robot can move on a black track using IR so that it can’t move on other way

Required Hardware
• Microcontroller (Arduino)
• Servo Motor
• Soil moisture Sensor
• Temperature Sensor
• Humidity Sensor
• Ultrasonic distance sensor
• Infra-red sensor
• HC 06 Bluetooth module
Microcontroller (Arduino)

• Arduino is an open-source electronics

platform based on easy-to-use hardware
and software.
• Arduino boards are able to read inputs -
light on a sensor, a finger on a button,
or a Twitter message - and turn it into an
output - activating a motor, turning on
an LED, publishing something online.
• Arduino Software (IDE), based
on Processing. Arduino was born at the
Ivrea Interaction Design Institute as an
easy tool for fast prototyping, aimed at
students without a background in
electronics and programming.
Servo Motor

• A servomotor is a rotatory actuator or linear

actuator that allows for precise control of
angular or linear position, velocity and
acceleration. It consists of a suitable motor
coupled to a sensor for position feedback.
• It consists of a suitable motor coupled to a
sensor for position feedback.
• Servo motors are great devices that can turn
to a specified position.
• Using the Arduino, we can tell a servo to go
to a specified position and it will go there.
Soil Moisture Sensor

• Soil moisture sensors measure the

volumetric water content in soil.
• Measuring soil moisture is important
for agricultural applications to help farmers
manage their irrigation systems more
efficiently.
• Knowing the exact soil moisture conditions on
their fields, not only are farmers able to
generally use less water to grow a crop, they
are also able to increase yields and the quality
of the crop by improved management of soil
moisture during critical plant growth stages
Temperature Sensor

• Temperature should be taken in consideration

for measuring and monitoring, as temperature
affects the crops if varies suddenly.
• The LM35 series are precision integrated-
circuit temperature sensors, whose output
voltage is linearly proportional to the Celsius
(Centigrade) temperature.
• The adequate temperature required for
healthy plant growth .
Humidity Sensor

• Humidity is the presence of water in air.

• The amount of water vapor in air can affect
human comfort as well as many
manufacturing processes in industries.
• Humidity sensing is very important, especially
in the control systems for industrial processes
and human comfort.
• In agriculture, measurement of humidity is
important for plantation protection (dew
prevention), soil moisture monitoring, etc.
Ultrasonic Distance sensor

• Ultrasonic sensor provides an easy method of distance

measurement.
• This sensor is perfect for any number of applications
that require you to perform measurements between
moving or stationary objects. Interfacing to a
microcontroller is a snap.
• A single I/O pin is used to trigger an ultrasonic burst
(well above human hearing) and then "listen" for the
echo return pulse.
• The sensor measures the time required for the echo
return, and returns this value to the microcontroller as a
variable-width pulse via the same I/O pin.
• It can provide precise, non-contact distance
measurements within a 3 cm to 3 m range.
Infrared Sensor

IR Transmitter
• Infrared Transmitter is a light emitting diode
(LED) which emits infrared radiations. Hence,
they are called IR LED’s. Even though an IR LED
looks like a normal LED, the radiation emitted
by it is invisible to the human eye .
IR Receiver
• Infrared receivers are also called as infrared
sensors as they detect the radiation from an IR
transmitter. IR receivers come in the form of
photodiodes and phototransistors. Infrared
Photodiodes are different from normal photo
diodes as they detect only infrared radiation.
HC-06 Bluetooth Module

• The HC-06 is a class 2 slave Bluetooth module

designed for transparent wireless serial
communication.
• Once it is paired to a master Bluetooth device such as
PC, smart phones and tablet, its operation becomes
transparent to the user.
• All data received through the serial input is
immediately transmitted over the air.
• When the module receives wireless data, it is sent out
through the serial interface exactly at it is received.
• No user code specific to the Bluetooth module is
needed at all in the user microcontroller program.
Scope
• This system reduces the man power and saves the time.
• The main purpose of these system is to find out the proper requirements of the crop.
• Mechanical Plants cutting is done easily.
• This system can find disease using weather conditions and soil, leaf sample taken by the
pictures using camera. It is low cost.
• Automatically plant irrigation can be done.
• Speed of work is more.
• No extra effort is required.
• Very economical and beneficial.
• Problem of labor shortage is overcome.
