Scholars stated that a community of


self- identified asexual coalesced in
the Early 21st Century,aided by the
popularity of online communities.
Myra Johnson wrote one of the first
academic papers about asexuality as
part of the book The Sexually
Oppressed.
originated as a concept in the
late 1890's
German Sexologist MAGNUS HIRSCHFELD wrote
the pamphlet Sappho and Solerates,which
mentions people without any sexual desire and
link them to the concept of"ANESTHESIA
SEXUAL"1897.
A term used to describe someone who
does not experience sexual attraction
toward individuals of any gender.

Asexual Pride Flag
The flag consists of four horizontal stripes: black, grey,
white, and purple from top to bottom. The black stripe
represents asexuality, the grey stripe representing the
grey-area between sexual and asexual, the white stripe
sexuality, and the purple stripe community.

CAN ASEXUAL FALL IN LOVE?
-Many asexual people desire and
have romantic relationship.
-An asexual person might not experience
sexual attraction,but they could certainly
experience romantic attraction
An asexual person could be romantically
attracted to people of a same
gender,people of another gender or
people of multiple gender.
DO ASEXUAL MAKE LOVE?
- Asexual may engage in sexual intimacy
with partners.'As mentioned,some asexual
do have sex, because sexual desire differs
from sexual attraction.In other words,you
might not look at someone and feel the
need to have a sex with them but you
might still want to have a sex on occasion.
CAN ASEXUALITY BE CURED?
-It can't be fixed through
medication or therapy.
DOES ASEXUALITY COME FROM
TRAUMA?
While some asexual people have trauma
histories, sexual trauma does not cause
asexuality. The right sexual experience or
partner will not change someone's asexual
orientation.
CAN ASEXUAL BE TEMPORARY?
-Some people may experience their
asexuality as a temporary thing related to a
periodic choice ,a temporary lack of interest
in sex,or as a factor of age.
IS IT OK TO BE AN ASEXUAL?
-Asexuality is completely normal.It is a
healthy sexual orientation just like
being a gay,being a straight.

“I knew what I wasn’t: I wasn’t interested in boys, and


I really wasn’t interested in girls,” Gunn wrote in his
2011 book, Gunn’s Golden Rules: Life’s Little Lessons
for Making It Work. “For many years, I described
myself as asexual, and I still think that’s closest to the
truth.”
2.Yasmin Benoit

Model Yasmin Benoit has spoken openly about her


asexuality, and wrote in an essay for Glamour
Magazine UK, “I live a perfectly happy and fulfilled life
as a Black asexual, aromantic woman. I don't need a
partner to complete me – I'm complete just the way I
am. That's why I use my platform to fight against
asexuality stigma, dispel myths and help empower the
ace community."
3.Emily Brontë

Wuthering Heights author Emily Brontë was


known to be very reclusive and had no known
romantic partnerships throughout her life. In
Understanding Asexuality, author Anthony F.
Bogaert detailed that Brontë may have been
asexual, although the romantic content of her
writings indicate she would not have been
aromantic.
4.Isaac Newton

Newton never married and was not known to


have any romantic partnerships. While
reflecting on Peter Ackroyd's biography,
Newton, journalist Christopher Hitchens wrote
that Newton "clearly hated women, may well
have died a virgin, and was terrified of sex."
Historians have subsequently proposed that he
may have been asexual.
5.Bradford Cox

I live an asexual lifestyle,” the Deerhunter lead


singer and guitarist said while discussing his
sexuality with Out Magazine in 2019, before
calling sexuality “really a waste of time." Cox
also explained that, although he abides by this
lifestyle, he chooses not to identify as anything
other than "queer."
