PROGRAMS
All programs are hosted and led by the AWC Virtual English Language Fellow,
Dr. Arthur E. Schneider

1. Staff Training
It is especially conducted for all team members to prepare them for establishing the center.

2. One-on-one Consultation
It is especially provided for UNAIR students and teaching staff. They individually consult
their academic writing to Dr. Arthur E. Schneider.

3. Writing Clinic
There are only 15 participants consisting of UNAIR students carefully selected based on
certain criteria such as in the process of writing their undergraduate thesis, thesis, dissertation,
papers, articles, and/or other academic works in English. At the end of the program, each
participant presents his/her article.
Programs
The AWC Virtual English Language Fellow, Dr. Arthur E. Schneider, successfully accomplished
his missions in assisting AWC to manage 3 programs which cover both macro & micro aspects of
research paper development as well as nurture the participants’ critical thinking skills.

1. Staff Training
The training was finished successfully, building a robust foundation for further
development of AWC.

2. One-on-one Consultation
12 students finished individual consultation on their academic writing papers.

3. Writing Clinic
6 students did a wonderful presentation on their Final Draft Paper in English.
CHALLENGES
1. Staff Training
As the staff becoming the participants of this programs are not used to dealing with
academic writing tutoring, they need more time and practice to manifest the
programs successfully, especially after the AWC Virtual English Language Fellow,
Dr. Arthur E. Schneider, finishes his fellowship.

2. One-on-one Consultation
In addition to their marvelous logic and writing skills, most of the participants need
to improve their English skills.

3. Writing Clinic
9 students accepted as participants failed to complete the program, mostly due to
clash of schedules as they also have to attend their regular classes.
