CONTINUITY

A FUCNTION F(X) IS CONTINUOUS AT x=a IF IS SATISFIES ALL OF THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS

( 𝑥 ) 𝐸𝑋𝐼𝑆𝑇
im 𝑓 (𝑥 ) 𝐸𝑋𝐼𝑆𝑇
→𝑎

m 𝑓 (𝑥 )= 𝑓 ( 𝑥 )
→𝑎
Missing – point discontinuity
- Occurs when condition is not satisfied. The curve appears continuous but
actually the point x=a is missing

Finite Jump

– occurs when the function has both left hand and right hand
limits

Infinite Discontinuous
– the curve approaches the line x=a without touching it
