PHINMA Cagayan de Oro College

Good day Ma'am or Sir. I am Johanna E. Tenajeros, a 3rd year student in the Civil
Engineering Department.

I am writing this letter to deal with my concern about wearing our prescribed
uniform. I am requesting your approval to just wear slacks instead of our school's uniform.
I know it is not prohibited in our school as it is required, and I also know that we have to
wear it as it is the school's mandate. I know my request is slightly not following the school's
standards, yet I have my reason why I am writing this to you.

I am begging this sir, since I suffered trauma with my past days when I was just in
senior high school, where I had to (just deal with nabastos na word) because of wearing
those kinds of clothes. I know I'm now in a different environment, yet I'm just concerned
with my safety and protection. Even if the school doesn't tolerate these kinds of acts within
us girls, other people still do it, whenever it happens, even where, and even how they will
do it. I'm just concerned because even though I know people around me, this new
environment for me may become worse than what I had before. I just don't want to suffer
and achieve those kinds of acts again. Even though I used to protect myself, there will be
some who will still do this kind of horrible crime. And I know that wearing slacks may
lessen the harm instead of me wearing a skirt where my skin would be seen.

I am begging for your consideration. I know you have a heart for us women with
these kinds of topics. I really hope you will consider this. I am hoping for your help and
support with my concern. I will see this as a very big help for me and to anyone who has
this kind of thing, if I am given a chance. Thank you, and God bless. God will just do the
thing for you.

Sincerely,
Johanna Tenajeros
