PERSONAL STATEMENT

My name is Eni Purnama and I am twenty years old. I graduated from 2 Demak high
school in Indonesia with a special subject in natural sciences in 2019. I have two older
brothers. His name is Johan and the second brother name is Joni. They have been married
with a happy family. My father worked as a merchant for 20 years. He is 53 now and I wish
his always happiness, good health and a long life with my mom. My mother is 50 now and
she doesn’t work because she is got a diabetes. She needs to rest and not work. For the past
7 months, I’ve been working as a tutor elementary and junior high school in Semarang.
After that, I work in bakery but it’s been long time ago, I already have 2 month of part time
work experience at the bakery. I have taken leave. Up until a couple of years ago, I was
studying and enrolled in the faculty of law in 2019 I did a three semester at Soegijapranata
Catholic University Semarang. When I was in a college, my parents were penniless but it did
not last. It’s doesn’t matter for me I still love my family. They’re good, my mom taught me a
person who stands up never stands alone, strong, never give up, and sure always have to be
patient because I believe there is a god. Then I work part time jobs to earn a living at least
and to help family expenses. After I had to resign from my college. These were all valuable
experiences and helped me to better person. Now, I’m looking to college. I’ve learned
during I work I pumpe up to learn everthing. I can learn from Internet, google, youtube and
books. I like reading novels, history, sciences, biology and old textbooks. It’s comfortable
for me, I can put music when I reading.

I’m very excited for Wells Mountain Initiative Scholarship Program 2021. I register for
that. They give the scholarship candidate the option of choosing a college in our own
country. I had to choose between studying in my hometown. If I chose to study in my
country I would be close to home, and close to my friends and family. That I hope this
scholarship help a little bit to cost. I started off thinking I wanted to go into Medicine or
dentistry because to mention the fact that I'm pretty fascinated by the human body, mouth
and teeth, the way it works and the ever-increasing knowledge about how to keep its
systems in balance. It was always childhood dream to become a doctor, caring for people
around me it’s great privilege to be able to help people. I’m really happy to learn biology. I
saw the work of doctors and other healthcare professionals who more or less saved the
lives of some of the most important people in my life. Therefore, I know Indonesia is
hardest country to get an education for underprivileged children. Now I will tell what I
want to do that can have some impact on society.

I will try to encourage more and more people to join me. Join hands for country and
serve. Some people are interested but either they don't know the way or they don't want to
fight against negative factors. Some are doing these activity but at small level in
unorganised manner because they don' want to take leadership. If I have community I want
everyone to care about other people, no matter race, age, or whatever. We can start
helping with free education as tutor with teaching children about education, thinking,
healthcare and more. I would still do it even I can’t be a doctor or dentist. My story about
my dream doesn’t mean for sure, we don’t know what my future will be or who I am. There
is one quote that really made an impression on my mind from a film little women and those
words are “Women they have minds and they have souls as well as just heart. And they’ve
got amibition and they’ve got talent as well as just beauty.” This is very releated in life.
Women can do what they want, they can enjoy with their hobbies, work, manage finances,
have a careers, have a family. Many women are efficient home-makers and their careers
take a back seat when they enter motherhood or when the domestic needs overcome their
career goals and Education that is indirectly important to women.
