HOW PAKISTANI WORKING
WOMAN ARE HAVING AN
IMPACT ON THE FASHION
INDUSTRY?
• the ratio from 20 years
ago the number of

WOMAN AND FASHION

• Woman have a personal attachment when it comes

to purchasing clothing and wearing the as
compared to men
WOMEN IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY

• They have ruled the fashion industry since it became a field.

• Freedom
• Maria B, Khadija shah (élan), Nida azwer, Kanwal Malik, Saniya Maskatiya and
many more who are ruling this field and have created so many job
opportunities for various people.
• job opportunities for female tailors who would work from home.

• This phenomenon of working women in this field truly helps them connect
with the general public as they use their aesthetic sense as well emotions to
create designs
• A good design will always attract consumers and obviously increase the sales
which will have a long term effect on the market's economy as well.
COTTAGE INDUSTRY

• Behbud, inaugurated in 1967, is ranked as one

of the largest self-sustainable non-profit
organizations in Pakistan.
• economic empowerment of women for more
than 50 years
• trained thousands of women artisans in the
urban slums and rural settlements across
Pakistan.
• physically reaching out and providing free of
cost training in hand embroidery and
needlework to women restricted to their homes
and villages.
• the products are available for sale at Behbud’s
stores across the country, including its chic
flagship store located in Islamabad’s F-6
supermarket,

WORKING WOMAN IMPACT ON TRENDS.
• there is not much of an impact on working women's clothes. Yes we do see very few brands who have separate
categories for workin woman clothes but there is not much of sales in general
• In Pakistan we have to also look at the culture which is to wear modest clothes that is commonly available in
every brand. The pretwear and unstitched departments already cover those areas. If we talk about the wedt
culture yes there is a huge market for workwear in women as it is mandatory to for them to wear a certain kind
of attire. Maybe for some events like corporate events or formal presentations working women in pakistan do
tend to wear formal workwear clothes but other than that the normal casual clothes are worn mostly
• Regarding the trends there are not much significant as like i mentioned earlier there is no stark distinguishing
characteristics for workwear clothes in pakistan
• A pretwear casual kurta can be worn with jeans when hanging out with friends and the same kurta can be worn
with eastern trousers at work
• (miss Esha Shahid teacher at tmuc)
CONCLUSION

• In my opinion if the woman in pakistan didn’t have a big impact on the trends in the fashion industry
different brands like kayseria would have introduced working woman collections. I asked two to three
working woman of what thy would prefer to wear to work and 2 out of them said matching seperates.
As for the fashion industry itself as I said earlier woman tend have a more emotional connection when it
comes to clothing. The fashion industry it self has created so many opportunities for woman living in the
slum areas who cant go out to work those woman are working from home creating beautiful hand
made embroidery pieces etc
