 The Piaggio P180 equipment and furnishings configuration can be

detailed to meet a wide variety of mission requirements.
 The aircraft cabin interior can be delivered with numerous different
options to include commuter transport, VIP, cargo, air ambulance,
and various combinations of each.
 This section is not inclusive of all aircraft configurations due to the
fact that aircraft finishing centers will strive to meet customer
demands and obtain separate approval certifications for nonstandard
equipment based on individual aircraft serial numbers.

Flight Compartment
 The flight compartment consists of a dual flight control arrangement (instruments,
control panels,… are conveniently located for crew accessibility).
 Upholstered seats are provided for pilot and copilot. The seats are adjustable
horizontally and vertically (the seat back may be reclined to max 10 ).
 Each seat is mounted on two parallel tracks bolted to the compartment floor structure,
which permit the seat to move forward and aft.
 The wall and the ceiling of the flight compartment are furnished with one overhead
panel and two side panels.
 A glareshield prevents from sunray incidence on cockpit instruments and provides
mechanical protection for avionics and electrical equipment.
 The flight compartment is divided from the passenger compartment by partition walls ,
one on each side of the cabin.
 The left side storage cabinet drawer contains the portable extinguisher and also contains
enough space for additional chart storage.
 An additional crew storage cabinet is installed at the lower aft side of the right flight
compartment partition.

Passenger Compartment
 The standard passenger compartment is certified for a maximum of 7 passenger seats
(6 in the passenger compartment + 1 optional seat in the lavatory)
 Cargo, Combi and Air Ambulance configurations are possible.
 The different cabin configurations are called:

Refreshment cabinet
 The refreshment cabinet contains
both food and liquid refreshment
provisions.
 It has ice storage bin, wine rack,
soda can storage area as well as a
trash container for solid or liquid
waste .
 A water warmer could be also
included.
 The refreshment cabinets are of
three different types and are located
in a different part of the passenger
compartment, depending on the

Lavatory
 The Lavatory Closet is fixed to the floor
rails.
 The lavatory console forms the rear wall of
the toilet area.
 A mirror is generally present on the upper
section of the console, while a trash
container, a toilet tissue container and a trash
container are located in the lower section.
 If the sink option is present, a water tank, an
electrical pump and a waste water container
are also installed in the lower section.

Toilet

 The unit is a light weight, compact and

electrically operated flushing toilet which
utilizes ordinary tap water and a germicidal
deodorant, as a flush fluid.
 The toilet is a completely self-contained unit.
 The toilet assembly is designed for permanent
installation on the aircraft, requiring only the
removal of the waste tank when servicing is
desired.

The first one (TECHTEST) consists of a control panel located in the instrument
panel, an ELT transmitter with related antenna located in the in the top of the
vertical stabilizer tip fairings and a “G” switch located in the top of the vertical
stabilizer tip fairings too.

The second one (ARTEX C406-N ELT (AF) ) consists of a control panel loca-
ted on the Pilot Instrument Panel, an "ELT Assembly" located on the baggage
compartment floor, a three band blade antenna located on the fuselage top
side between the frame 77.90 and 81.40 and a buzzer located in the baggage
compartment nearby the "ELT Assembly“.

ELT (Dorne-Margolin)
 Installed only on P180 Avanti.
 The Emergency Locator Transmitter (DM
ELT8) operates at 121.5 and 243.0 MHz
freq.
 The system is housed in the top fin fairing,
with a Remote Control Switch (ON/TEST –
AUTO) in the baggage compartment on the
right side of the door.
 On the ELT unit, a switch placarded ON-
OFF-AUTO allows the unit to be set to the
automatic mode so that it will transmit only
after activation by impact.

ELT (Techtest)
 The unit installed in the fin bulb contains: the
transmitter for 121.5 and 243.0 MHz freq., the
battery pack, the transmitter for 406.025 freq.
(COSPAS/SARSAT satellites) and the “G
switch” unit provided with its batteries.
 The “G switch” is connected to the remote
controller, installed on the pilot instrument
panel.
 A three position switch is located on the “G
switch”: OFF – ARM – ON.
 In normal flight conditions the system is armed
but inactive; in emergency conditions it can be
activated by an impact detected by the “G
switch” or manually by the pilots.

ELT (Artex)
 The unit is able to operate as beacon on
the 121.5 and 243.0 MHz emergency
freq. (respectively civil and military) as
well as 406.028 MHz freq. for reception
by COSPAS/ SARSAT satellites.
 The ELT is installed on the floor of the
baggage compartment.
 The three-band antenna is installed with
on the top side of the baggage
compartment.
 The Remote Control Panel (two
positions locked switch ON-ARM + red
LED indicator) is installed on the pilot
instrument panel.

Underwater Acoustic Beacon
 The underwater acoustic beacon (UAB) consists of a
self-contained unit installed on the left rear side
panel of the baggage compartment.
 The UAB can be used to locate the aircraft in the
event of a water landing (up to 20.000 ft depth).
 The UAB radiates a pulse acoustic signal whenever
it is submerged in water for a period of at least 30
days.
 The signal is strong enough to be detected up to
1,800 - 3,600 meters laterally from the aircraft's
resting place.
 The UAB locator is a battery-powered device that is
automatically switched on when it is submerged in
either fresh or salt water.

Life Vests
 Inflatable life vests are optional equipment and can be stored underneath the
passenger seats with access panels that are secured by Velcro for quick easy
access.
Note: lavatories with the optional seat must have a life vest too.

Inflatable Life Raft

 The inflatable life raft is also optional equipment and can be stored in any
suitable location that conforms to the aircraft configuration (with standard
configurations, the vanity closet provides ample storage space).
 The life raft is placarded with the weight, maximum capacity, date of next
necessary inspection and is equipped with its own ELT.
