NRB Selling Points

• NRB does not lose efficiency or capacity in silenced version

• NRB sound levels also decrease in heating mode
• NRB silenced is bigger - more V blocks to decrease air velocity and
keep efficiency levels
• 4 to 5 dB(A) quieter than high efficiency version
• Better price
• Better efficiency
• Extended operating limits
• Low refrigerant charge
• Sound levels
• Defrost logic on heat pumps
NRB: Working Limits Cooling

• Maximum outlet water temperature

• All version: 55°C / 131 °F

• Minimum outlet water temperature

• "Y” or “Z” versions: -10°C / 14 °F
NRB

• Now possible to do Mechanical cooling down to -20°C / -4°F

• XLA (Extra Low Ambient) option

NRB

• Microchannel coils for the cooling only and free cooling versions
• 30% weight reduction if compared with traditional Cu/Al
• 30% / 35% reduction of refrigerant charge if compared with
similar units with Cu/Al
NRB

• Cu/Al V block for heat pumps

• Reduction of pipe diameter (cost and refrigerant charge reduction)
• Drain pan with electric heater
NRB: Low Noise Version

• In the low noise version the same efficiency levels are available

• In this case we will have greater dimensions as we have a lower air

flow rate (+1/+3 V-block)
• At the moment for the NRL exist only the «E» version with not so
high efficiency (EER=2.0 to EER=2.5)
• Low noise only cooling version (E, N)
• Fan speed reducing
• More V-block to maintain a higher efficiency level

• Low noise heat pump version (HE)

• Fan speed reducing
• More V-block to maintain a higher efficiency level
• Silenced in all the operating mode in cooling and heating (same
noise level in cooling and heating working mode)
NRB: Silent Night Mode

• Night Silent Mode for the not low noise version

• Can reduce the fans speed from external contact or from hourly program
• Logic regulation with set end pressure band

Cooling Load Required

During the Day > Cooling Load Required at
Night

Night Silent Mode Specify a time during which the unit

can operate by reducing the fan speed

Versions Standard ( “A“, “U“) This low noise version is compact

+ inverter fans and less expensive unit (good
compromise price/noise)
NRB: Environmental Impact

R410A = Reduction refrigerant charge > 30%

(for the only cooling versions with microchannel coils)
NRB: V-Block for the
Cooling & Freecooling Versions

The module V-Block is composed of:

• 2 microchannel heat exchangers
• 2 fans
• The main frame

Micro-Channel Heat Exchangers

• 30% Weight reduction if compared with
traditional CU/AL

• 30% - 35% reduction of refrigerant

charge if compared with similar units
with CU/AL
NRB: V-Block for the
Heat Pump Versions

Availiable Condensor Coils

• Copper/Aluminium Cu-Al
• Copper /Aluminium Epoxy coated
• Copper/Copper Cu-Cu
• Copper/Copper Tinned Cu-Cu Sn

Reduction of the Copper pipes

Diameter (7 mm)

• Cost Reduction
• Refrigerant charge reduction

NRB: Electric Board
Electric box is installed on the back of the unit

Installation of all the electrical components in one control box except the NRB3000 that
exeed’s the dimension of the container

For the NRB3000 the electrical box is split into smaller boxes to enable it to fit into a
shipping container

Unit with 10 V-block:

New Control Board PCO5

• Carel pCO5+
• More parameters
• Night mode function
Section 3:
EER Comparisons
NRB vs. NRL

• NRB is more competitive than NRL!

• For units larger than 150 ton we will require 2 NRB – still more cost effective than
a big NRL (sizes 2250 to 3600)
• Higher EER and IPLV compared to NRL

• High Efficiency Version and Low Noise High Efficiency Versions
