What is 40 x 60?

4 x 6 is 24 so 40 x 60 is 2400
So 41 x 58 ≈ is approximately equal to
While we are learning to

estimate it is useful to find the
exact answer
41 x 58 = 2378
so 2400 is a good estimate

equal to.

So we can write 41 x 58 ≈ 2400
