OF SOLIDS
Objectives
At the end of the lesson the pupils should be able to;
1.Name different solid objects around us; and
2.Classify the solid objects based on their characteristics.
3.Pupils may draw objects representing solids.
4.Describe the different physical properties of solid
objects.
5.Define what are the solid objects.
Solids maybe described in terms of
color, size, shape, texture and weight.
We use our senses in identifying objects
based on their characteristics. We can
find various solids in our environment.
Color - the aspect of any object that may be described in terms of hue, lightness, and saturation.
Example: Red, Yellow and Blue

Size - the dimensions, proportions, amount, or extent of something.


Example: Big and small

Shape - can be defined as the form of an object or its outline, outer boundary or outer surface.
Example: Square, Circle and Triangle

Texture -refers to surface characteristics and appearance of an object given by the size, shape,
density, arrangement, proportion of its elementary parts.
Example: Rough and Smooth.

Weight - is the measure of the amount of force acting on a mass due to the acceleration due to
gravity.
Example: Light and Heavy
Class activity
1. Instruction: We will look around the inside of the classroom and after
that you will collect 10 solid objects inside of the classroom.
2. List down the objects based on their characteristics inside the chart below.

Identify the solid objects. Directions: Inside the chart/table
