- Refers to the various tools and
equipments used by scientists working in a laboratory. Laboratory equipments is generally used to either perform an experiment or to take measurements . Larger equipment is generally called scientific instrument LABORATORY EQUIPMENTS: • Reagant bottle • Gloves • Volumetric flask • Alcohol thermometer REAGANT BOTTLE • FUNCTION: Reagent bottle was first manufactured by DURAN in 1972. Reagent bottle is also known as media bottles. Raegent bottle is used to store chemicals in liquid or powder form. It is also used to transfer liquid substance into a graduated cylinder, beaker,Erlenmeyer flask and test tubes. Gloves • FUNCTION: Gloves was introduced in 1894 by William Halsted, the first chief of surgery. Gloves are very essential in everyone who’s conducting an experiment.Gloves are used to protect our skin on harmful substance. There is a lot of gloves like disposable, leather, cycling and welding but the most used one in lab is the nitrile one. Volumetric Flask Volumetric flask was invented by Dewar in 1892.
Volumetric flask is a pear-shaped lab
apparatus with round flat bottom. The flask has ring graduation marking on its neck which specify the liquid volume when filled up to the meniscus.
It is used for measuring accurate volumes
of liquid materials for lab experiments.

Alcohol Thermometer Alcohol Thermometer is invented by Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit and Rene Antoine Ferchault de Reaumur in 1709.
Alcohol thermometer or the spirit thermometer
is an alternative to the mercury-in-glass thermometer. Unlike the mercury, the contents of an alchol thermometer are less toxic and will evaporate faster. It also requires colored substance, for it is transparent , the liquid is more visible to see if it has color.
An alcohol Thermometer measures the
temperature of a liquid. Thank you for listening!!!
