INTRODUCTION

During the 21st century many British inventions have come that are
international and have changed technology a lot, some of the most
important inventions in the world come from British inventors, and these
inventions have had a significant impact on society and the daily lives of
people. people all over the world.
British inventions have left a significant mark on the history of
technology and have had a significant impact on modern life.
BRITISH CULTURE

 The culture of the United Kingdom, also called

"British culture", can be described as the legacy of
the history of a developed island country, a great
power and also as the result of the political union
of four countries, each retaining its distinctive
elements. of traditions, customs and symbolism. As
a result of the rule of the British Empire, the
influence of British culture can be seen in the
language, traditions, customs, and legal systems of
many of its former colonies, such as Canada,
Australia, India, and the United States.
Graphene (2004)

Graphene is a single layer (monolayer) of carbon atoms, tightly bound in a hexagonal

honeycomb lattice. It is an allotrope of carbon in the form of a plane of sp2-bonded atoms
with a molecular bond length of 0.142 nanometres. Layers of graphene stacked on top of
each other form graphite, with an interplanar spacing of 0.335 nanometres. The separate
layers of graphene in graphite are held together by van der Waals forces, which can be
overcome during exfoliation of graphene from graphite.
Graphene is the thinnest compound known to man at one atom thick, the lightest material
known (with 1 square meter weighing around 0.77 milligrams), the strongest compound
discovered (between 100-300 times stronger than steel with a tensile strength of 130 GPa
and a Young's modulus of 1 TPa - 150,000,000 psi), the best conductor of heat at room
temperature (at (4.84±0.44) × 10^3 to (5.30±0.48) × 10^3 W·m−1·K−1) and also the best
conductor of electricity known (studies have shown electron mobility at values of more
than 200,000 cm2·V−1·s−1). Other notable properties of graphene are its uniform
absorption of light across the visible and near-infrared parts of the spectrum (πα ≈ 2.3%),
and its potential suitability for use in spin transport.
Dyson Airblade
(2006)
Dyson Airblade is a dryer that really dries hands and
whose sales, rightly so, have only grown year after
year, since it was launched in early 2006. So far
144,000 units have been sold in 30 countries. And
they seem few.
It is curious that hand dryers, whose effectiveness
has always been more than doubtful, had not been
adequately improved until six years ago. And Dyson,
which is famous for its vacuum cleaners, thought of
it. "You put your hands under the other dryers, rub
them together a bit, give up, and end up drying on
your pants. It's something that's always bothered
me." This is how James Dyson, founder of the
company, explains how his company came up with
the idea in 2006 of creating a completely different
hand dryer, the Dyson Airblade.
Dyson engineers spent three years developing,
testing and perfecting Airblade technology. The
hand dryer works in just 10 seconds, removing
water from your hands like a windshield wiper. It's
the fastest hand dryer, thanks to Dyson's digital
motor. Designed by Dyson engineers, the digital
motor "works very differently from conventional
brush motors," the company boasts on its website.
It uses digital pulse technology and rotates at a
speed of 88,000 revolutions per minute. This
speed is enough to suck 37 liters of air out of a
bath per second. Air is expelled at more than 400
miles per hour through two eyelash-width (0.3-
millimeter) slots, creating layers of air that
remove water from your hands in just 10 seconds.
The result is none other than what one would
expect from a device of this type: the hands are
really dry.
A Raspberry Pi is a small computer that is similar in size to
an Arduino board and is also often used in the maker world
to build electronics projects. However, they are two tools
that may seem visually similar to us but are not the same:
the Raspberry Pi is a much more powerful tool than the
Arduino that is used to carry out more complex projects of
different types, since it is a microcomputer and, as All

Raspberry pi computers require an operating system to function. And,

thanks to this operating system, we can use the board as if
it were a desktop computer, while in the case of Arduino
(2012) the board only directly executes what we have programmed
inside it before through a computer, since it is a board
programmable but not a computer.
Created in 2012 by the Raspberry Pi Foundation as a low-
cost computer with the aim of bringing computing closer to
everyone, the Raspberry Pi has its own open source
operating system, Raspbian, which is based on a GNU/
Linux called Debian. Even so, other compatible operating
systems can be installed depending on the uses we want to
give it, in the same way that we will choose one board
model or another taking into account the limitations of
each of these models and the needs that we have as
creators.
In this sense, a Raspberry Pi can be used directly as a home computer, if we choose one of
the models with 4GB or 8GB of RAM, so that we can study or work with basic tools as we
would with a desktop computer; as a basis to build home automation projects that help us
automate our home, whether it is to control lighting, heating or blinds; to create security
and video surveillance systems, or to do other projects simply with the aim of entertaining
ourselves, such as a retro game console to play some classics.
Morph folding
Wheel (2013)
Detachable wheel for the disabled.
An incredible folding wheel that will
delight many cyclists with physical
disabilities.
New invention: 'Morph Wheel' is the
first folding wheel to assist the
disabled
Designer Duncan Fitzsimmons
developed – for the first time in the
history of the invention – a folding
wheel.
Since the conception of the wheel 7,000 years ago, one quality has been maintained
throughout its evolution – its roundness. A cycling enthusiast, Fitzsimmons wanted to
improve on the folding bike, which can shrink as small as its tires.

According to the Atlantic, Duncan Fitzsimmons acknowledged a limitation in

wheelchairs. Today's wheelchairs are adaptable for individuals, but when not in use,
they are bulky, and space consuming.

In order to find a solution, Fitzsimmons teamed up with Maddak, a manufacturer

that specializes in products for people with disabilities, and designed Morph Wheels –
a large 24-inch folding wheel that cuts its size in half tat. Morph wheels are narrow
enough to fit in the overhead compartment of an airplane, or the back of a taxi.

They are made of fiberglass-infused nylon and will fit any chair with a quick-release
shaft. The disabled can now detach and change their wheels.
PLAYR (2017)
PLAYR is a performance tracking device
designed for soccer players. The device is
attached to the back of the player's jersey and
uses GPS technology and accelerometers to
collect data on the player's performance during
soccer training and matches. The data is sent to
a mobile app, where players can monitor their
progress, set goals and receive personalized
training recommendations to improve their
performance.
The PLAYR device is manufactured and
marketed by the British company Catapult
Sports, which is a world leader in sports
performance tracking technology. The device is
designed to be easy to use and can be attached

CONCLUSIONS
 Edgar: As a personal conclusion, I found it to be a very informative class, as we were
introduced to 5 recent and important British inventions related to engineering, we talked
about some very useful inventions in life, such as the folding wheel for people with
disabilities, this invention was one of those seen in the presentation and also thanks to
these activities we relate more to English, which has been the main thing in the subject.
 Mario: In this activity we were able to get to know some of the many British inventions that
exist, we have realized that most of them exist in our daily life since these inventions are
international and are all over the world, it is very interesting to know about technology
what we fear today and what can be done in the future.
 Angel: British inventions have contributed to the advancement of new technologies for the
benefit of the human being, for example graphene, which is one of the materials that is
being used in mechanical electronics, among other areas of engineering, since it is more
resistant. as are the other 4 inventions that continue to improve today as more British and
foreign technologies come out.
