Close Reading of Non-Print Text

• Print Text: Any text with written words


Examples: books, excerpts, stories, poems, newspaper articles,
letters, documents

• Non-Print Text: Any text that is in a non-print format


Examples: TV/movie clip, music, dance, painting, picture,
photograph, cartoon, advertisement, poster

analyze the challenge providing details

and how the person might be responding to this challenge.

Commentary—Explain your own thoughts, feelings, connections, etc. about


this challenge. Evaluate what it says about those who can overcome this
obstacle. Can you connect or relate to the person in the picture? 
Discuss why is it important to overcome obstacles in general?
