• China is one of the world's four ancient
civilizations
• The history of Chinese literature extends thousands of years, from
the earliest recorded dynastic court archives to the
mature vernacular fiction novels that arose during the Ming
Dynasty to entertain the masses of literate Chinese
Xia Dynasty
• is the first dynasty in traditional Chinese
history
Shang Dynasty
• was the first with historical record
remaining inscriptions on bones and bronze
objects. Teritory was between the lower
reaches of the Yellow and Yangtze Rivers
Zhou Dynasty
• Major philosophies and religions emerged
that were the basis of Chinise belief in later
eras, such as Confucianism and Daoism.
Qin Dynasty
• Was the first to unite China as a country under an
emperor instead a ruling clan. the first and shortest
imperial dynasty in China, Famous for great building
project like the Great Wall and Terracotta Army.
Han Dynasty
• The longest imperial dynasty, the Han dynasty,
was known for starting silk road trade,
connecting China with Central Asia and
Europe. During the Han era, agriculture,
handicrafts and commerce developed well.
Sui Dynasty
• It took a dynasty reminiscent of the power and
vision of the Qin Dynasty to reunite China: The
Sui dynasty set the foundation more stable
medieval age in China. It was a short, intense
dynasty, with great conquests and achievements
like Grand Canal and rebuilding of Great wall
Tang Dynasty
• Was the golden age for poetry, painting,
Tricolored glazed pottery, and woodblock
painting.

SU MANSHU
• He later adopted Su Manshu as a Buddhist name. His
father was a Cantonese merchant, and his mother was
his father's Japanese maid. He went back to Guangdong,
China when he was five while his mother stayed in
Japan. He became a Buddhist monk three times during
his life; once at the age of 12, later in 1899, and again in
1903. He studied in Japan and traveled to many
Buddhist countries including India, and Java. He was
involved in revolutionary activity against the Qing
Dynasty writing articles and papers. He mastered many
languages — English, French, Japanese and Sanskrit. He
died at the age of 34 in Shanghai, reputedly of eating 60
meat dumplings to win a bet.
