THE SKELETAL SYSTEM IS YOUR BODY'S CENTRAL


FRAMEWORK. IT CONSISTS OF BONES AND CONNECTIVE
TISSUE, INCLUDING CARTILAGE, TENDONS, AND LIGAMENTS.
IT'S ALSO CALLED THE MUSCULOSKELETAL SYSTEM.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF SKELETAL SYSTEM

THE SKELETAL SYSTEM IS MADE UP OF YOUR BONES AND CREATES


THE SUPPORT STRUCTURE FOR THE REST OF YOUR TISSUE AND
ORGANS. YOUR SKELETAL SYSTEM GIVES YOUR BODY SHAPE,
SUPPORTS YOUR MUSCLES, PROVIDES MOVEMENT, AND MAKES
RED BLOOD CELLS.
PARTS OF SKELETAL SYSTEM
The skeletal system is divided
into two parts: the axial
skeleton and appendicular
skeleton. The axial skeleton
includes the skull, spinal
column, ribs and sternum.
The appendicular skeleton
includes all upper and lower
extremities, the shoulder
girdle and the pelvic girdle.
