Course Description
This course provides students the theoretical,
philosophical and empirical bases for the design,
development and implementation of the Social
Studies Curriculum. Focus will be given on
understanding the philosophy, design, content
and process of the present social studies
curriculum being used.
Students will be exposed to the
different perspectives and models of
curriculum in social studies. They are
also expected to review, implement and
evaluate the existing social studies
curriculum.
Course Objectives/
Outcomes
At the end of the course, the students must
have:
1. acquired current knowledge in making
Social Studies instructional materials and
maximize the use of educational technology
in relation to the use of various strategies
and effective teaching learning process.
2. expressed creativity to enhanced skills
in utilizing recyclable objects in making
instructional materials.
3. produced varied instructional materials
and utilized appropriate teaching
strategies in the different Social
Studies disciplines.
