other words, it started in the
past and ended in the past.

Past continuous describes actions or events
in a time before now, which began in the
past and is still going on at the time of
speaking.

To make the past simple with 'be' (subject +


was / were). Then just add verb-ing.

Example:-

They were watching

She wasn’t reading ?

Was she reading ?
