These expectations make the students work relentlessly and end up in creating
more stress. With academics, the parents and the institutions want the students to
participate in extracurricular activities too, the current expectations from the
students is to be an all-rounder.
Lack of proper channels for counseling leads to more confusion and the students
are unable to choose a career for themselves even after rigorous studying patterns.
This demanding attitude from parents and teachers leave the students bewildered
and builds up stress.
It is essential to identify the level of the stress among BEED Students of
Camarines Norte State College so that it can be addressed meticulously and
efficient interventions can be outlined. Stress is always seen as subjective process
and encompasses individual’s personal analysis and counter to a threatening event.
Stress can result in depression, anxiety and many other hazardous conditions. The
rise in the number of workshops being conducted for Stress Management, various
articles being published, research reports etc. is an implication of the escalation of
stress related cases in the past few decades.
Prolonged stress can lead to physical and emotional disorders, further resulting
in anxiety and depression. It is important to have a channel to relieve the anxiety.
Though stress is often considered bad, but there is always the other side of the coin.
The right kind of stress helps in sharpening the mind and reflexes, thus helping in
boosting memory. Mild stress is always essential for effective and efficient working.
It can help one to meet daily challenges and can motivate students to reach their
goals.

HYPHOTESIS
Stream wise difference in stress does exist in students. It is important to deal with stress
at personal, social and institutional level. Remedies such as feedback, yoga, life skills
training, mindfulness, meditation and psychotherapy have been found useful to deal with
stress. To identify the main reason of stress is the key to deal with it. Professionals can
develop tailor made strategies to deal with stress. The integrated well-being of the students
is important not only for the individual but for the institute as well (Reddy et al., 2018).
The educational system also plays an enabling role subsequently leading to
increased stress levels experienced by students. Some of the sources include
overcrowded lecture halls, semester grading system, inadequate resources and
facilities vastness of syllabus, long hours and expectations of rote. Parents and
institutions relentlessly instill the fear of failure which affects their self-esteem
and confidence. Increased expectations as one of the factors responsible for
increased stress levels learning (Deb et al., 2015).
Mental results include: anxiety, despondency, burnout, insomnia, dissatisfaction.
Behavior related effects caused by stress can result in meager efficiency in task at
hand, overflow of information process, usage of alcohol and other addiction, etc.
Excessive usage of these resources may come up with different issues; may affect
one’s health. We cannot skip the fact that an excessive high or excessive low level of
stress characterizes our performance in several activities. If there's no strategy
adapted so as to scale back stress, its results can increment resulting in real
dysfunctionality in the daily chores through tension and struggle (Subramani &
Kadhiravan, 2017).
• Academic Performance of College Students while dealing with Stress
no significant difference was found as per the gender. The difference was evident
between junior and senior students. Stress, for sure, affects the ability to study
efficiently and managing the time. Studying regularly is important, this helps reduce
the academic pressure and helps them fulfill their goals (Khan & Kausar, 2013).
THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK
• This study is anchored on the theory of Hans Selye (1956) which he describes stress
syndrome (GAS) model. Selye introduced the idea that the stress response could
The findings of this study will serve as the basis of formulating strategies on
managing and coping with the stress level of 3rd year BEED students of Camarines
Norte State College and other institutions to ensure higher level of fostering quality
education and better academic performance.
The outcome of this research will provide insights to all school heads and
teachers to know how they can provide a stress-free school environment with their
students and give them quality learning and education. The results of this study
may give motivation to the parents to provide a responsible obligation to their
children by simply checking on them on how they feel, mentally, physically and
emotionally, and to not put them into extreme pressure of studying but to help
them to overcome stress.
Furthermore, the results of this study will eventually benefit the students to
help them know how does stress level affect their academic performance and make
possible solution to manage and cope with the stressors. It may encourage and
enable them to make greater progress. Finally, the findings of this study may
provide the future researchers a starting point how to expand the coverage of the
research in terms of the variables covered in the study.
METHODOLOGY
RESEARCH DESIGN
The findings of this study are specific to the context of the 3rd Year
Students of Camarines Norte State College, Daet, Camarines Norte. The
possibility for the general applicability of the findings was limited by
the scope, and the sample.

State College
POPULATION AND SAMPLE
The instrument will use in the study was adopted from the
standardized survey of Clark (2007) for the independent variable
and Australian Human Rights Commission (2004) for the dependent
variable but researchers made questionnaire to suit the context of
the study.
