Introduction

Zero Energy building is a concept where the amount of energy produced by

on-site renewable energy sources is equal to the amount of energy used by
the building. This concept reduces energy consumption, Carbon dioxide and
negative impact on environment.
OBJECTIVE OF ZERO ENERGY BUILDING
1.Minimize house hold energy
2.Reducing carbon dioxide
3.Maximize the use of renewable energy
4.Reducing water use by efficient appliance
5.Health and comfort ensure with good daylight and fresh air supply
6.Adopting of reuse and recycling practices.
HOW ZERO ENERGY CAN BE ACHIEVED

Site selection
Cooling and lighting
Building design
Employ Renewable sources of energy
FEATURE OF ZERO ENERGY BUILDING

• High performance windows and doors

• Energy efficient lighting
• Smart appliances
• Renewable sources of energy
HIGH PERFORMANCE WINDOWS AND DOORS

Materials used for doors and windows chosen based on the heat insulations & performance
under various climatic condition . Double Glazed windows sandwich a layer of air or inert
gas between the two layers of glass. Reduces the heat loss as compared to single pane of
glass by as much as 50%.
WIND DUCTS

Wind Ducts provide cool air at center of the room from the roof
ENERGY EFFICIENT LIGHTING
ENERGY STORAGE
RENEWABLE SOURCES OF ENERGY
ZERO ENERGY BUILDING

SUN CARRIER OMEGA PVT .LTD
Sun carrier omega is the first company to bring
India sun tracking intelligent solar pv which
generates about 40% more energy than fixed system.
It is a solar energy company in Bhopal, Madhya
Pradesh. It has green building certification with
LEED platinum.

CONCLUSION

With increasing degradation of the environment because of increased energy consumption,

environment, conscious building design has become urgent. The benefits of green design
and zero energy building to society in general, and building owners and users in particular,
are manifold. The construction of such buildings results in reduced destruction of natural
habitats and bio-diversity, reduced air and water pollution , less water consumption, limited
waste generation and increased user productivity. With increasing threat on our planet earth
caused by depleting resources and increasing emissions it is absolutely pertinent that all our
future buildings should be designed to function as ZERO ENERGY BUILDING.
