SIMPLE SENTENCE
A simple sentence is made up of one complete
subject and one complete predicate. It can be short or
long.

COMPOUND SENTENCE
A compound sentence is made of two or more independent clause (simple sentences).
These independent clauses are joined by a comma and a conjunction.

Conjunctions that join independent clauses are called coordinating conjunctions


(coordinators). The coordinators are as follows: for, and nor, but, or, yet, so. But the three

COMPLEX SENTENCES
A complex sentence contains a independent clause and joined by one or more
dependent clauses. A complex sentence always has a subordinator ( a
subordinating conjunction) such as because, since, after, although, or when or a
relative pronoun such as that, who or, which.
