What is Infrastructure development activities ?
It means the activities relating to planning, designing, financing, construction
maintained to improve the quality of various components like;
 Soil conservation- It is the prevention of loss of the topmost layer of soil erosion
 Watershed development- It refers to the conservation, regeneration and judicious
use of all natural resources like land, water, vegetation.
 Seed development
 Bio fertilizer, bio pesticides, vermicompost
 Plant tissue culture- Collection of techniques used to maintain or grow plant cells,
tissues under sterile conditions on a nutrient culture medium.
 Floriculture
 Market yard, warehouses, cold chain
FARMING ACTIVITIES
What are farming activities?
It means cultivation of farm land for production of agricultural and horticultural
crops and the utilization of farm land for the production of different allied
activities.
 Crop cultivation. (e.g. short term crops- cereals and Long term crops-
Horticultural crops)
 Allied activities. (e.g. dairy, poultry, goatery, piggery)
 Land or soil development
 Purchase of land
 Irrigation (e.g. flooding, drip, sprinkler etc.)
 Farm mechanization ( Tractor, Power tiller, harvester, thresher etc.)
 Agri inputs (e.g. seeds, fertilizers, pesticide, herbicide etc.)

What are Ancillary Activities ?
Activities that exist to support the main productive activities of an entity by providing non
durable goods or services entirely or primarily for the use of that entity.

(e.g. sugar, pickle, cotton)

• Implements
• Seeds
• Mechanization
• Fertilizer
• Pesticides
 Agri clinics
Provide support in:-
• Maintaining soil health by soil testing
• Adopting various cropping patterns
• Various plant protection measures
• Post harvest management
• Health services for farm animals
• Insurances
 Agri-business centres are commercial units of Agri-ventures by agri
professionals.
