Explanation text is a text that tells the process of how and why something
happen.

2. THE SOCIAL FUNCTIONS


Explain how and why phenomenon this happen, such as :
 Natural : gempa bumi, tsunami, banjir, perubahan cuaca, dll
 Social : Media sosial, korupsi, kemiskinan, demo, organisasi, dll
 Culture : rumah adat, batik, alat musik tradisional, seni tari, wayang
GENERIC STRUCTURE OF EXPLANATION TEXT
1. General Statement terdiri dari informasi umum tentang topik dan menyatakan fenomena
masalah yang akan dijelaskan atau biasanya berupa pengantar.
2. A sequenced of explanation berisi tentang penjelasan proses fenomena bisa terjadi atau
langkah langkah yg menjelaskan fenomena dengan pertanyaan how and why.
3. Closing bersifat OPTIONAL, berisi pendapat penulis tentang topic

SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE

berlangsung saat ini atau kejadian yang berulang kali.

Adverb Of Time :
• Every : ( day, week, month, year, night, morning, hour, afternoon ...)
• Always, usually, often, sometime, seldom, once/twice a day
