Subject and
Predicate

A sentence must have a subject and a predicate


to be considered a sentence. Study the example
below.
 
My sister needs comfort.
 
 
 
The underlined part in the sentence above is its
subject. It is who is being talked about in the
sentence. The boxed words completed a
sentence, just like the example below.
 
Run!
● The example above is an imperative sentence. It has an
invisible subject You. It has a complete thought because
it has a subject (You) and a predicate (run). But when a
group of works does not have a subject or a predicate,
it does not have a complete thought, such as in the
example below.
