Training Objective:

 How to apply the 5S methodology for the organization of teams and workspaces
that promote efficiency, productivity, safety, and quality.

 Improve and maintain organization, order, and cleanliness conditions in the


workplace, safety conditions, work environment, staff motivation, efficiency, and,
consequently: the Organization's Quality, Productivity, and Competitiveness.

 How to increase the level of service by improving response times and eliminating
activities that do not provide added value (non-productive) in our processes.

Training process:
We carried out the training aligned to the presentation 00013-AMTB 5S Training Slides,
at the same time we were carrying out the activity with the LEGO car
 1°Sort:
- Separate the needed from the unneeded for the work being performed
- How to use the Red tags to identify items that are not needed

Leader Forklift Operator

First Activity
Step 1.- Separate the group into teams (2 or 3 teams)
For each team select a leader, a Forklift driver, and a sub-leader

Responsibilities:

Leader – His responsibility is to lead the team, request the movements of the forklift and push the
team to participate in the decisions

Sub-leader - His responsibility is to use the spaghetti diagram - He will draw the movements and
trajectories of the forklifts. (he is watching everything)

Forklift driver – His responsibility is to simulate that we have a forklift to move the pieces from one
place to another (Only one piece can be moved at a time)

What is a spaghetti diagram and what is it used for?

A spaghetti diagram is typically used to illustrate a process or set of processes. The various stages
and interactions between each stage are shown, allowing the reader to visualize how things connect.

First Activity
Step 3.- The leader and the operators:

They start to separate all the lego pieces they need to make the lego car.

NOTE:
- Explain to the team that they do not start to make the lego car, just separate the lego pieces that they will
need
- Use the manual that comes in the cardboard box, to identify the parts you need to make the car (This
information is in the back of the manual)
- Using a stopwatch, record the time they need to separate the parts they need from the parts they don't need
to make the lego car
- All pieces that are not necessary must have a 5S red tag
- All parts that are not needed should be placed in one place

Third Activity

Discuss as a team, how to separate the cleaning and inspection areas, the tools to use to carry out the cleaning,
and propose a schedule. On a sheet of paper, draw a calendar and assign a person in charge for each day who
will carry out the cleaning and inspection activities by area. (11”x17”)
