INTRODUCTION:
From 1930s onwards, The British Government was
losing patience with the Congress and Muslim
League as they both reject the proposals for
constitutional settlement. They decided to call all
representatives of India for constitutional proposal to
come to an agreement on making India’s
Constitution.
The Round Table Conference, 1930-32
In First Round Table Conference Mr Gandhi and other Congress members
were in jail. The Conference agreed on the following points:
Dominion Status must be given to India.
Rights of the minority communities should be safeguarded.
In Second Round Table Conference, the constitutional agreement failed
about the stability of the separate electorates but due to the stubborn attitude
of Gandhi in rejecting other parties opinion.
The Third Round Table Conference was hardly attended by any delegates as
Mr Gandhi, Jinnah and Labour Party did not attend that so the conference
produced no results.
The Reaction of British Government on
the Round Table Conferences:
The British Government decided to work with only those parties, who were
willing to work with them for constitutional development.

Ali, 1933
"Now or Never," published by Choudhary Rahmat Ali as

Q1. If you were a part of round table conferences at that time what two measures
would you have taken to make them successful?
