Moral Dilemmas
Moral dilemma is a situation in which a
person is faced with two or more conflicting
ethical or moral principles, making it
difficult to determine the right course of
action. In such situations, there is often no
clear-cut solution that satisfies all ethical
considerations, leading to a feeling of moral
conflict and uncertainty.

Personal
Dilemmas
Personal dilemmas refer to situations in
which individuals must make a choice
between two or more conflicting values,
principles, or obligations. These
dilemmas often arise in personal or
professional contexts and can involve
difficult ethical decisions that have a
significant impact on an individual's life,
relationships, reputation, and well-being.
Organizational
Dilemmas
Basically, ethical cases encountered and
resolved by social organizations are
organizational moral dilemmas. This category
includes moral dilemmas in business, medical
field, and public sector. Organizational ethical
dilemmas can also arise when organizations
must navigate the complexities of local and
international laws and regulations, cultural
differences, and changing public attitudes
towards various issues.
Structural
Dilemmas
These structural moral dilemmas pertain to cases involving
network of institutions and operative theoretical paradigms. As
they usually encompass multi-sectoral institutions and
organizations, they may be larger in scope and extent than
organizational dilemmas.
Importance of knowing Moral
Dilemmas
Knowing about moral dilemmas and their three levels is important because it can help
individuals make informed ethical decisions, develop a deeper understanding of their own
values and beliefs, and promote better outcomes for themselves and others. Understanding
the different levels of moral dilemmas can also help individuals navigate complex ethical
considerations that arise in different situations and become more ethical in their personal and
professional lives. The ability to make informed ethical decisions is crucial for personal and
professional growth, as well as for promoting the well-being of individuals, communities,
and society as a whole.
