EPISTEMOLOGY
The philosophical discipline that inquires into the nature,
origins, and limits of human knowledge; theory of
knowledge
LOGIC
The study of correct thinking. It deals with the difference between a
valid and an invalid argument, how to spot fallacious reasoning, and
how to proceed in reasoning so that the conclusion of an argument is
justified by the premises.
ETHICS
The philosophical investigation of the principles governing
human actions in terms of their goodness, badness,
rightness, and wrongness.
ESTHETICS
The philosophy of the ART; the philosophical inquiry into
the nature of art and beauty. Sometimes spelled as
aesthetics.
METAPHYSICS
The philosophical discipline inquiry into the nature of
ultimate reality. In contemporary usage, the term includes
the analysis of fundamental philosophical principles.
PHYLOSPHY – uses the method of
RATIONAL REFLECTION in its attempt to
discover the most general principles underlying
everything
NORMATIVE
The function of philosophy concerned with establishing
standards for distinguishing the correct from the incorrect,
whether in ways of reasoning, believing, esthetic
judgements, or acting.
