What is online shopping?

Online shopping is a form of electronic commerce which allows consumers to directly
buy goods or services from a seller over the Internet, using a web browser or a mobile app.

More and more people choose to buy things online because they can visit web stores from
the comfort of their house and shop just by sitting in front of the computer and browse a web
site or by using a mobile app on their phone or tablet.

- Let’s say it’s a rainy day and you’re feeling lazy but you want to buy a new t-shirt for
an upcoming party. Why go to the store and waste a minimum half hour on the road and

sitting on your living-room couch, while having a soda and watching your favorite Netflix
movie.

- Many online shops have lower prices than a physical one. This situation is
encountered even when we are comparing the same store.For example, I recently
bought a pair of sport shoes from a store called SportVision and it were cheaper online
by 28% than the price in the physical store.

 There is a possibility of not receiving the
order because of the wrong address or
some other reason.
 Restocking and shipping costs are often
charged on return.
 The online shopper doesn’t always know
if a site is a legitimate retail store and if it
is safe to shop
What is traditional shopping?

Traditional shopping is the activity of visiting a shop and making purchases. This way of
shopping has it’s positives and negatives parts, as you can learn in the following slide.
 Positives
- You can try on and touch the product
you want to buy.
- You can check the material and see the
design from close.
- People without the internet can visit
stores for items.
- You get the product immediately after
you pay.
- Get personal service. You can ask some
questions, get advice or just a friendly
smile.
- Traditional shopping gives too much
happiness.
Negatives
- You lose a lot of time.
- Consumers have to travel a certain
distance to the product.
- You forget the prices you have seen in
the previous shops, so you can’t
compare them.
- Not all stores and businesses have the
exact item for the customers.
- Since you want to see something and
visit every store, you are under pressure.
- There is some limited time of when the
store us open and shut.
 What is the difference between online shopping and
traditional?

The main difference between online shopping and traditional shopping is that online
shopping is very convenient as you can shop anytime, anywhere while traditional shopping
can be time-consuming, but allows you to actually see and touch the products you are
buying.
