 THROUGH PHENOMENAL ARCHITECTURE
NAME; ADIL A S ,  REGISTER NO; 24119106.
Equitable spaces through phenomenal architecture refer to the creation of
physical spaces that promote social justice and inclusivity through the use
of architecture that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional.
Phenomenal architecture aims to create a sensory experience for the user,
going beyond functionality and addressing emotional and psychological
needs. By considering the cultural, social, and environmental context of a
project, architects can create spaces that are inclusive and accessible to all,
regardless of gender, age, ability, or socio-economic status

AND METHODOLOGY

TKM SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE, DISSERTATION 2023 Tuesday, April 25, 2023 4

There is a growing need for equitable spaces in urban design through
LITERATURE REVIEW phenomenal architecture due to several reasons:

Social justice: Architecture has historically been used to exclude certain groups
of people, such as those with disabilities or from marginalized communities.
Equitable spaces through phenomenal architecture aim to address this by
creating spaces that are accessible and inclusive to all.
Inclusivity: In urban areas, people from diverse backgrounds come together to
work, live, and interact. Equitable spaces through phenomenal architecture aim
to create spaces that foster a sense of community and belonging, and where
everyone can participate equally.
Sustainability: As urbanization and climate change continue to affect our cities,
there is a need for sustainable and resilient design solutions. Equitable spaces
through phenomenal architecture aim to address these challenges by creating
spaces that are environmentally responsible and adaptive to changing needs.
Economic benefits: Equitable spaces through phenomenal architecture can also
have economic benefits. By creating spaces that are accessible and inclusive, they
can attract a wider range of people and businesses, and contribute to the
