 Social media has become an increasingly important platform for architects and
designers to showcase their work and engage with their audiences. It has
transformed the way architecture is presented, shared, and discussed, and has
opened up new opportunities for collaboration, feedback, and inspiration.
One of the key roles of social media in contemporary architecture is its ability
to promote and publicize architectural projects to a wider audience. Social
media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook allow architects to
share photos and videos of their work in progress and completed projects,
providing a behind-the-scenes look at the design process and allowing viewers

 The aim of this dissertation is to explore the role of social media in contemporary
architecture, with a focus on how social media is used to promote and publicize
AIM architectural projects, connect architects with their peers and clients, facilitate public
participation in design, and potentially influence dominant aesthetic and cultural
norms. By examining the opportunities and challenges of social media in architecture,
this study aims to provide insights that can inform the effective and responsible use of
social media in the architectural profession.

To identify the most commonly used social media platforms in the field of
OBJECTIVES architecture.

To analyze the content and strategies used by architects and firms on social
media to promote and publicize their projects.

To explore how social media can be used for public participation in architectural
design, and the potential impact of this on the design process and outcomes.

To develop recommendations for architects and designers on how to effectively

and responsibly use social media in their practice, taking into account the
opportunities and challenges identified in the study.

 LITERATURE REVIEW Social media has become an integral part of contemporary society,
changing the way we communicate, share information, and interact with
others. In recent years, social media has also emerged as a powerful tool in
the field of architecture, influencing the design process, communication
with clients, and perception of the profession. This literature review will
explore the role of social media in contemporary architecture and its impact
on the field.
The use of social media in architecture is a relatively recent phenomenon,
but its influence has been growing rapidly. One of the key ways social
media has impacted architecture is through the design process. Architects
now have access to a wealth of information and inspiration from social
media platforms like Instagram and Pinterest, which can help them stay up-
to-date on the latest design trends and techniques. In addition, social media
allows architects to share their work with a wider audience, which can help
them build their brand and attract new clients.

 LITERATURE REVIEW Another important way social media has impacted architecture is in the way
architects communicate with clients and the public. Platforms like Twitter
and Facebook have made it easier for architects to engage with their clients
and share updates on the progress of their projects. This can help build
trust and transparency between architects and clients, which is crucial for
successful projects. Social media has also given architects a platform to
share their work with a wider audience, allowing them to showcase their
skills and build their reputation.
However, social media has also raised some concerns in the field of
architecture. One of the biggest challenges is the potential for social media
to perpetuate a narrow, homogeneous view of architecture. Because social
media platforms are driven by algorithms that promote popular content,
there is a risk that only a few styles and approaches to architecture will be
showcased, leaving little room for diversity and experimentation.

 In conclusion, social media has had a significant impact on contemporary
architecture, influencing the design process, communication with clients,

social media continues to evolve, it will be important for architects to be
mindful of these challenges and work to ensure that the field remains
