Assistant Professor Ground Rules • Need to be at ALL check-ins with ID and camera on. • Work with your group. If you have a non-participatory member or absent member, please notify me. • Only need to pick 1 of the topics available. Which browser is more secure? • Compare 3 modern browsers with available research data. • Present studies that have compared the browsers or aspects of the browsers in a literature review. • Make your recommendation after comparing (a minimal of 5 previous pieces of research). • What did this exploit? • Why was it so much more effective than previous BotNet designs? • What kind of mitigations would you recommend for protection? Current State of IoT Security • Introduce how IoT has penetrated the market • Research 2 – 3 IoT security breaches (NOT Mirai) • Present the history of the attacks and affected devices • Talk about how they could have been prevented • Discuss any reputation loss or business loss by the company(s) of these hacks • Present the security outlook for these company(s) or for IoT as a whole Can a BYOD policy be intrusive and unethical? • Research the ethical debates of MDM software on personal devices. • Compare presentations of lessons learned on BYOD implementations. • Develop a BYOD policy, in conjunction with a deployment of an MDM device for a medium sized hospital. • What compliance issues and ethical issues are there to overcome? • Can you find a complete solution that covers CIA for the BYOD policy and MDM deployment?
