MICROSOFT EXCEL
 Excel is a spreadsheet program, bundled
by Microsoft in their Office suite for
Windows and Mac.  The computer
spreadsheet was invented by Dan
Bricklin in 1979. It was originally
supported on Apple II, under the program
name VisiCalc.
MICROSOFT EXCEL
 is a software program produced
by Microsoft that allows users to
organize, format and calculate data with
formulas using a spreadsheet system.
This software is part of
the Microsoft Office suite and is
compatible with other applications in the
Office suite.

 PARTS OF THE

EXCEL SCREEN
TITLE BAR part that is located at the top of the screen
which contains the title of the program, name of the workbook
that is running and the three buttons such as minimize,
maximized/restore and close button.
2. MENU BAR part located below the title bar that contains the
main menus in Microsoft excel such as file, edit, view, insert,
format, tools, data, windows and help.
3. TOOLBARS part that allows us to execute a commonly used
command without opening a menu or dialog box. There are
three default toolbars named as standard, formatting and
drawing.
4. NAME BOX part that indicates the location of the
active cell.
5. FORMULA BAR part that display the data you
typed in the cell. It is also used to edit your
worksheet.
6. COLUMNS it is the vertical line identified by
letters.
7. ROWS it is the horizontal line identified by
numbers.
8. WORKSHEET TAB used to select one worksheets
in an MS Excel Workbook
9. SCROLL BARS part that helps us to move around
the worksheet.
10. CELL POINTER a selected cell ready for data
entry
