‘TYPES OF WASTE’
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF
WASTE BIODEGRADABLE WASTE
AND NON-BIODEGRADABLE
What is biodegadable waste?
Biodegradable waste is a type of waste typically
originating from plant or animal sources, which
may be degraded by other living or animals
PROBLEM WITH BIODEGRADABLE
.biodegradable wastes if spread around in the
open can act as breeding grounds for
mosquitoes, flies and other vectors of diseases.
• They help in spreading diseases also contaminate the
environment.
• They also cause pollution, if dumped in large
amounts in the environment.
What is non-biodegradable wastes?
• Non-biodegradable wastes are those which cannot be
decomposed or degraded by natural agents.
• They remain on earth for thousand of years without any
degradation or decomposition.
• Therefore, the threat caused by them is also more
dangerous.
• An example is the plastic which usually used in almost
every area
Disadvantages of non-biodegradable
•Unlike biodegradable wastes ,non-biodegradable cannot be easily handled.
•Non-biodegradable wastes are those whoc cannot be decomposed or
dissolve by natural
• They remain on earth for thousand of years without any
degradtion.
• Hence, the threat caused by them is also more critical
