IN REPORTED QUESTION WE USE POSITIVE SENTENCE ORDER!


◦ ED: „Are you hungry?” -> Ed asked me IF I WAS HUNGRY. NOT IF WAS I HUNGRY
◦ ED: „Where is he?” -> Ed asked WHERE HE WAS. NOT WHERE WAS HE.

INFORMATION
Czasownik wprowadzający
◦ W zdaniach w mowie zależnej zmianie ulega większość czasów, jednak tylko wtedy, gdy czasownik
wprowadzający mowę zależną jest w czasie przeszłym
(He said, She told me, He asked..)
◦ Jeśli czasownik wprowadzający jest w czasie teraźniejszym (Present Simple lub Present Perfect), czas
gramatyczny w przytaczanym zdaniu pozostaje bez zmian.
„I’m not satisfied with your performancie” -> The teacher has said she is not satisfied with my
performance.
„How do you handle stress?” -> She wants to know how I handle stress.
Past Perfect tenses & modal verbs
◦ Niezależnie od formy czasownika wprowadzającego zmianie nie podlegają zdania w czasie Past
Perfect, Past Perfect Continuous oraz czasowniki modalne (would, should, could, might, must)
„Before my resignation I had been working on a large project”
-> She told the interviewer that before her resignation she had been working on a large project.

„During the interview you should try to make eye contact”


-> He told me that during the interview I should try to make eye contact.
