This document provides information on reported speech and reported questions in English. It explains that when changing direct speech or questions into reported speech, the tense may change depending on the tense of the verb introducing the speech. However, if the verb is in the present tense, the grammatical tense remains the same. It also notes that past perfect tenses, past perfect continuous tenses, and modal verbs do not change form regardless of the introducing verb tense. Examples are given to illustrate these rules.
