The problem and its setting
The research was entitled “Reasons of Late Submission of Students' Requirements.” The
objective of this research is to identify the reasons of late submission of the students’ requirements in
Grade 7, Grade 8, Grade 9, and Grade 10 and the overall reasons of our respondents. We conducted a
survey questionnaire among the high school students from Grade 7-10 at the New Filipino Private
School during the school year 2021-2022. The data gathered had shown a quite familiar results in the
reasons when we identify the main reasons in each grade. The overall reasons for students in late
submission based on the data collected are personal problems that the student is facing, how busy
they are with their personal problems, lacking proper motivations in life, difficulty of assignments
given to them, and the number of assignments given to them in a single day. These can affect the
student’s focus while doing their school requirements given by them from the subject teacher. We
recommended that they should change their lifestyle that they could submit it on time.

More specifically, it aims to answer the following questions:

Reaserch Design
The research method for our
research is the mixed method. The
mixed method is the combination
of qualitative and quantitative
method.
Methodology:
Respondents
Our chosen respondent for our
study is the high school students
from Grade 7 - 10 at the New
Filipino Private School enrolling
from 2021-2022. The total number
of our respondents is 38.
Research Procedure
The questionnaire of our survey is a
list of 10 statements that our
respondents will choose five of the
following options: strongly
disagree, disagree, moderately
agree, agree, and strongly agree.
 Methodology:
Data Analyses
The survey that we used has a questionnaire that uses the
multiple-choice grid type. For our data collection, the Google
Forms that we had used for our survey automatically summarized
the responses of the respondents into a column chart for what
responses. The five options are divided to 2 parts: strongly
disagree and disagree into Disagree part while moderately agree,
agree, and strongly agree are all in the Agree category.
Statistical Tools
1. Frequency Count
- We used this to count manually the responses on each of the
options that our respondents picked either it is by grade or all
of them based on their opinion on each of the statements.
2. Percentage
- We used it to just simply find the percentage on the number of
responses in each response in each statement in our survey.

that the reasons for students submitting their school
requirements late are their personal problems that they are
facing, difficulties in the assignments given to them , and the
number of school requirements that had given to them at
once.

that the reasons for students submitting their school
requirements late are their personal problems that they’re
facing, how busy they were when dealing in their personal
life, they lacked proper motivations, the difficulties in their
assignments, too much assignments has given to them.

The majority of our respondents in Grade 9 have responded

that the reasons for students submitting their school
requirements late are their personal problems, they’re busy
with their personal problems, they lacked the proper
motivation, difficulties in their assignment, too much
homework is given to them, they’re distracted with online
games, and their assignments conflicted the schedule with
their curricular activities with academics.

The majority of our respondents in Grade 10 have responded

that the reasons for students submitting their school
requirements late are their personal life, they’re busy with it,
they lacked proper motivations, unstable working
environment, difficulty in their assignments, too many
assignments given, and their assignments conflicted the
schedule with their curricular activities

The majority of our respondents have responded that the

overall reasons for students submitting their school
requirements late are the student’s personal problems that
they’re facing, how busy they are with their own personal
problems, they lacked proper motivations, the difficulty of
assignments given to them, and the number of assignments
given to them in a single day.
 Conclusion
We had already clarified that late submission in
school requirements came from different factors
based on what the student experienced. These
came from personal, family, friends, school, or
etc. We conclude that our alternate hypothesis
was correct that there are many reasons many
reasons for late submission of requirements and
projects among students, therefore our null
hypothesis was wrong.
Recommendation
We recommended that each student who ever
passed their school requirements late should be
able to change their habit or routine that they
can submit it on time. If they do this, then they
should be successful that they have manage to
pass it on time which immediately improves the
student’s academic performance, so they would
have better grades than what they had before.
This not only affect the students, but for the
whole school that teachers will not be upset at
them that their students had no problems when
it comes to submitting their school
requirements.
