VERB (TO BE): WAS/WERE
Simple present:
She is a student. (Cô ấy hiện đang là học sinh)
I am a lazy son. (Tui là một đứa con lười biếng.)
Simple past:
She was a student. (Cô ấy đã từng là học sinh. Bây giờ có thể cô ấy đã đi làm, không còn đi học.)
I was a lazy son. (Tui đã từng là một đứa con lười biếng.)
Cách dùng WAS/WERE với các loại danh từ:
WAS: I, she, he, it, John, my mother, her sister…
WERE: You, we, they, the students, the people…
