This course is about the use of an
e-learning management system.
 Course Title:  E-learns
 Course Description: This course will
 (a) define e-learning and other terms
used--online learning, blended learning,
and distance learning
 (b) explain the principles of effective
teaching and learning when applied to an e-
learning course. In addition, students will
apply the principles in the creation of an e-
learning course.

Course organization:
 The course will follow a methodology that
includes presentation, practice, assessment,
and review. Topics to be covered include:
 definition of e-learning, features of an e-
learning management system, creating a
course on elearn.org.af, course content
(learning outcomes, e-lectures, assignments,
and assessment), file manager (creating
folders and uploading files), discussion forum
(setting up a discussion forum and facilitating
discussion forums).

Definition: E-learning, blended learning,
online learning, distance learning
Effective teaching and learning where students learn from
traditional face to face interaction, as well as global
engagement, using physical and digital content. This
definition assumes:
 a teaching and learning pedagogy that involves
presentation, practice, assessment, and review
 a mix of learning tasks, activities, assignments or
homework
 a mix of content delivered by print and by mix of
technologies CDs, cell phones, the computer, and the
Internet
 a mix of lecturers, tutors, facilitators, course coordinators
or other students not only from the home institution but
also from institutions within and outside Afghanistan.
