THE PRESENT

SIMPLE
the present simple, along with the present perfect and the present continuous, is one of the three present forms that
exist in english. it is written taking the base form of the verb for the pronouns i, you, we and they; and an -s is
added for the third person singular it, she and he.
(+) subject + verb + complement.

For example:

• Lizzie likes coffee ( A Lizzie le gusta el café.)

• work as a secretary(Trabajo como secretaria )

• You call her every day (La llamas todos los días)

• He finishes his job (Termina su trabajo)

• She goes home (Se va a casa)

• It matters a lot (Importa mucho)

PAST SIMPLE
The past simple is used for sentences in which the idea, act, or state has already been completed. It could have ended five
minutes ago or five centuries ago, the end time does not matter, the only important thing is that it is talking about
something that no longer happens or exists in the present.

• He changed his job in February. (Él cambió de trabajo en febrero)

• You studied architecture at University. (Estudiaste arquitectura en la Universidad)
