Issues and Concerns

Puberty can be a difficult
time for an adolescent
because of the many
physical changes that take
place.

can make things overwhelming for
many young people.

GAINING WEIGHT

As your body changes, you feel like you


are getting too big. So you try to control
what you eat. When you control too
much and you are not getting enough
nutrition, you can get sick.

 Remember that you body is changing and it will take time before you reach the
stable adult stage.

 Stick to a healthful diet and maintain an active, healthy lifestyle to avoid getting
sick.
POOR POSTURE
One of the things affected when
young people start getting
conscious of the physical changes
that happen during puberty is
posture. This may result in body
aches and pains if not corrected.

PIMPLES AND ACNE

Pimples and acne are also caused by overactive sweat and oil glands.
Although this is normal during adolescence, you must practice good
hygiene to keep pimple and acne from getting out of hand. If this happens,
it is best to see a doctor so your acne can be managed.
PREMENSTRUAL SYNDORME (PMS)
 refers to physical and emotional symptoms that occur one to two weeks
before a menstrual period.

The symptoms are different for every


female and are usually gone around the
start of bleeding. Some common
symptoms are;
 acne
 tender breasts
 feeling of bloatedness,
 weakness
 irritability, and
 mood changes
DYSMENORRHEA

During a girl’s menstrual


period, she can experience
menstrual cramps, which can
be very painful. When
dysmenorrhea gets very
painful, you might need to
take a pain reliever to help
you ease the pain.
