• They were in the middle of the Silk Roads, allowing them easy transport to
Trade and regions like India China etc.
• People from all over the world came to Baghdad to trade with merchants

They also had access to the Tigris
River, which ends at the Persian Gulf,
letting the Arabs carry products to
places like Europe and Russia
They also have many naval routes,
including the Persian Gulf and the
Tibris River The rivers gave many
advantages to the Arabs , for
example letting them carry products

The Silk road
• The silk road was a series of roads
mainly used for trading.
• It was given the name silk because it
was used for garments and the west
wanted it.
• The Maritime silk road connects regions
in the Indian see and made it possible
to connect to a higher population.
• It was also used for a safer option of 
transport.
Products and goods
• They had many local products, like
paper and textiles.
• One of their major resources is silk and
velvets, made from golden threads
brought from China.
• Baghdad itself was a trading centre and
goods can be sent to different place in
Baghdad if needed.
• Being next to two fertile rivers allowed
them to progress greatly in agriculture.

The Origin of Banking System in


Baghdad:
• During its rapid development, Baghdad became the centre
of trades.
• To support its growing economy, a new banking system was
developed.
• This system introduced saving accounts, cheques,
transactional accounts, and loan services to the population,
greatly improving the convenience of money transportation.
• As a result , more people were encouraged to trade and live
in closer to the city.

• Circular shape which represents its


position as a very important trading hub
• Network of canals that allow them to grow
crops effectively
• a round wall around the city to protect the
caliph and citizens.

• The House of Wisdom was a well-
funded centralized hub for
learning and connecting scholars
together
• it gave economical and political
support to the scholars who
worked there
• This Library led to many great
achievements and major
breakthroughs.
