 PERSONAL LETTERS
Personal letters are letters you write to people you have already known well or been familiar
with, such a family members, friends, classmates, or pen friends. The topics of personal letters
can be various, but mostly something that interests both the sender and receiver/recipient. For
example, news about family, school, and hobbies

 WRITE THE ADDRESS
In a letters, write your address (but not your name) in the top right-
hand corner, if it is included, but it is often left-out altogether in
informal letters. There is no need to put the address of the person you
are writing to. In mail, you only need to type the receiver’s mail address

In a letters, write the date when you are writing your letter on
the right-hand side of the letter.

Write your greetings as opening in both letter and mail. It is acceptable

to be informal, such as “Dear”, “Hi”, or “Hello”.

Write the content of your letter mail. Write anything you would like the
receiver need to know and to read.

I’m sorry I couldn’t return home this month. I have asked for leave, but could not get any
permission. All employees of my company are forbidden to travel long distances due to
covid-19. Let’s hope that the condition keeps improving.
Anyway I hope that you like your present. I know you have always wanted a drone for
making cool shots on your video footage. Be careful when you are using it. Don’t record
people or private areas without consent.
Happy 17th Birthday! I can’t believe how time has passed so quickly.

 BEFORE SIGNING OFF YOUR MAIL

End your letter or mail by signing off and say “Love”, “Love from”, “Lots of love” to family
members and “Your Friend”, “Big hug”, “Cheers”, “See You”, “Best wishes”, “Take Care”, or
just as simple as “From” to friends and acquaintances
