Sparrow Garments Ltd.
Summary
Sparrow garments ltd., started as a small company in Bangalore
is now established in 3 different manufacturing location in
Karnataka with annual sales turnover of Rs 200 crores with over
4000 employees in span of 10 years. The CEO of the company
Mr. Vinay felt that the communication was suffering. When he
observed a decline in productivity and increase in rejection rate.
He thought that company was loosing its “small company” spirit.
Distressed by his inability to mmet the requirements Mr. Vinay
sent letters to production heads and managers of the company,
asking them to work as a team and to work with more efficiency
and efforts. The recipients of the letters, in turn sent similar
letters to their supervisory of marketing field staff. However the
situation didn’t improved and Mr. Vinay felt that he had lost
touch with employees. To overcome the problems he hired the
service of a management consultancy firm to study the situation
and report to firm.
Q1- What do you think are the company’s real
communication problem?
 Lack of standardization.
 Lack of feedback.
 Being overly connected.
 Lack of non-verbal cues in written

communication.
Q2- What are the alternatives ways in which
communication can be established in the company?

 Face to face communication.


 Email conversation and communication.
 Social media application.
 Team messaging application.
Q3- How can the company get better commitment
from its employees to improve the situation?

 Clear communication
 Provide feedback
 Respect your employees needs
 Construct career growth opportunities
Q4- If you are hired as a consultant, what will be your
suggestion to Mr. Vinay to improve the
communication ?
Ans- If I was hired as a consultant, my
suggestion to Mr. Vinay would be that he must
appreciate the work of the employees, try to
communicate with them often. Increase their
salary based on their work. Give them bonus for
their extra work. Doing this will make them
happy and the communication among the
company will get better.
