MODULE 4 DATA

MANAGEMENT
(Part 1)
MODULE 4: DATA MANAGEMENT
Learning Objectives:
1. Identify the different methods in presenting data.
2. Use variety of statistical tools to process and manage numerical data.
3. Use the methods of linear regression and correlations to predict the value of a
variable given certain conditions.
4. Advocate the use of statistical data in making important decisions.

⮚Application of Statistics
Methods in Presenting Data
1. Textual – uses statements with numerals in order to describe the
data for the concrete information and in expository form.
2. Tabular – uses statistical table to directly display the quantities or
values collected as data.
3. Graphical – illustrates data in a form of graphs aiding readers to
understand the text easily.
Types of
Graphs
Bar graphs - it is used
for multiple responses
or overlapping
categories.

Types of
Graphs
Line graph – it is
used to show a trend
over a period of
time.

Types of Graphs

Circle graph - it is
used to show a
component/part of a
whole

Types of
Graphs
Pictograph – it is
used to show a more
vivid picture of the
data. Pictures are
used to represent
the actual data.

Graphs
Scatter-point diagram –
it is used to show
roughly if relationship
exists between two
variables
