Being a Witness – Florence Nightingale

Ian & Aurora

Witness to Love
Florence was a nurse in the Crimean war and
went on to teach her skills to the next
generation – 2 jobs that exemplify love
profoundly. By being on the front lines, and
putting your life on the line, not to shot others
down, but to bring them up, into good health,
shows true selfless love, and her passing on
her skills showed how compassionate, and
proficient she was.

Witness to Love Served

Nightingale not only valued love, but
continuously acted on it throughout her life
and career. She brought change through both
policy, and innovation, and spread her love
through her innumerable achievements.
War Nursing Career
Florence Nightingale began her career as a war
nurse in the Crimean War. In her first year in
Crimea, 10 times more soldiers died of disease
than of wounds. Nightingale sent a plea to the
government for a better facility. That caused
a new facility to be constructed with a tenth
of the death rate.

She then proceed to implement sanitary

measure, which in combination with the more
apt building, lowered the previous 42% death
rate, to 2%.

motional Intelligence
If I could meet with the Florence Nightingale, I would ask her how being
a nurse during the Crimean war affects her to this day.

She inspires me to keep trying to succeed with a job in the medical

field. I want to eventually become an obstetrician, which is a doctor
that works with pregnancy and the birth of babies. Nightingale inspires
me to not give up, because she never did even with all the trauma and
deaths happening around her.
