HIST OF IRELAND

• Great Britan had ruled Ireland for hundred of years

• Division of Ireland in two parts in 1920s

• The populatin of Ireland divided into two groups

• Unionists or loyalists as they were loyal to the British crown

• Nationalists or Republicans as they wanted Northern Ireland to

join the Republic of ireland

• The unionists were mostly Protestants and the nationalists were

mostly catholics

PERIOD OF TROUBLES

• After division of Ireland ,Unionist were the ruling Gp in Northern Ireland

• 1960s the tension turned violent resulting in period known as the

Troubles(1968 to 1998)

• To deal with the conflict, the British troops were sent to the Northern Ireland

• IRA carried out deadly bombing in Britain and northern Ireland

• On Friday, 10 April 1998, British PM Tony Blair and

Irish PM Bertie Aheren signed this agreement and it

includes,

 Creation of Assembly

 The executive power had to be shared by parties

representing two communities

 The decisions which were previously made by

UK, will be made by NIA

• Natural Resources

 The Province posses many minerals

including Coal, Sulpur, Chromite, Iron ore,

Barytes, Marble, Quartzite and limestone

 Btn has the largest reserves of Gold and

copper in the world

 In 1953, the natural gas discovered at Sui

area of dera Bugti

• Education
• Btn is the least literate provice of Pak
• 78% of Balochistan’s youth is out of school
• The schools lacks basic facilities like no
toilets, no class rooms, no boundries etc

 Poverty

 Btn is the poorest provice of Pakistan

 71% of the population of Btn are under the

poverty line

 The people are deprived from the basic

facilities like clean water, clothes, food and

houses
