PROJECT IDENTIFICATION
A Mixture of the best in Kevlar and Glass fiber with
CNT, this fabric combines the properties of the two fibers in
each layer to deliver high strength-to-weight ratio, high
comformability, impact resistance, abrasion resistance,
dimensional stability, and fatigue resistance.

SUMMARY OF LITERATURE
Kevlar is a heat-resistant and strong synthetic fiber, related to other
aramids such as Nomex and Technora. The high-strength material
was first used commercially in the early 1970s as a replacement for
steel in racing tires.
 Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are third allotropic form of carbon–
fullerenes which consist of graphite sheet rolled up into a
cylindrical tube to form either single–wall (SWCNTs) or multi–wall
(MWCNTs). Methods such as: Electrical arc discharge, Laser
ablation and Chemical vapor deposition are used to synthesize
CNTs.

COMPOSITE PLATE MAKING
PROCEDURE
Epoxy Resin LY 556 Properties:
 1. Visual aspect -Clear, pale yellow liquid 2. Viscosity at 250 C -10000-12000 MPa s 3.
Density at 250 C -1.15-1.20 gm/cm3 4. Flash point -1950 C
 Hardener: For getting the properties to be improved, the resin should undergo curing reaction
in which the liner epoxy resin structure changes to form three-dimensional cross-linked
thermoset structure. This curing reaction takes place by adding a curing agent called hardener
in a ratio of 10:1 to Epoxy resin.

1). First we need to cut our Kevlar and glass fibre as the dimensions we required.
2). We need to place a Kevlar fibre on the table where we applied wax
3). We need to coat the Kevlar fibre by using the epoxy resin through out the surface area of the
fibre.
4. Next we want to place the glass fibres (2) on the epoxy coated Kevlar fibre and again coat the
fibre material using epoxy resin.
5. Again and again this process is followed and 4 Kevlar and 6 glass fibres are coated together as
a composite layer

STEPS FOLLOWED
We want to follow these steps to get a perfect composite material
We want to apply all these releasing fabric to get our composite fabric from table
1 step - perforated Release film
2 step- peel ply
3 Step-Breather.
4 Step-Sealant tape. (to avoid Vacuum and filling the gap).
