ABOUT ASHAY BHAVE

⪢ Ashay Bhave, a 23 year old former Dubai student from

Mumbai has successfully recycled tonnes of plastic trash into
thousands of pairs of sneakers.
⪢After dropping out of NY Fashion Institute of Technology, Ashay
moved to Dubai in 2017 to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in BBA from
Amity University, Dubai from where he won the Amity University
Dubai’s 2019 Eureka start-up pitch competition, which paved the way
for starting his own company “Thaely- don’t just do it do it right’.

 ABOUT THAELY
Thaely is a vegan sneaker brand that
manufactures sneakers from waste plastic bags.
The plastic waste is recycled to make ThaelyTex
fabric that looks and feels like leather. Each pair
uses a total of 15 plastic bags and 22 bottles. The
production process does not release any toxic
chemicals as a by-product. Since July 2021,
Bhave’s startup Thaely has recycled over 50k
plastic carry bags and 35,000 discarded plastic
bottles into ‘green shoes’.
